Learn the traditional way to sharpen a pencil.
 If you’re eager to get started, using a typical artist’s pencil sharpener is totally fine—but keep in mind, sharpeners tend to break charcoal pencils and leave shorter points that dull faster.
 Learning to sharpen by hand can be frustrating at first (and you'll probably break a few pencils), but it’s an essential skill to develop.

Homework: Try sharpening a few of your pencils to a point.
